My name is Cecilia Götherström.
I could call myself the founder of AkashaTalking. But that would not be entirely correct.

Akasha, the beautiful, strong, mind-blowingly intensive, wise and guiding Husky Queen in my life was the founder of AkashaTalking. We did this together. She was the creating force, I was the student. And boy, did she – and all the thousands of animals I have worked with since 2010 – teach me, and are still teaching me.

Akasha is now on the other side of the rainbow bridge (she left on 9/9 2020), and still a strong guiding force. 

In 2010 Akasha had been in mine and my husband´s life for a little more than a year. We had some challenges which no training seemed to solve.

Akasha´s gorgeous breeder Helena at Okamis Kennel Sweden explained that what we were told by the books we had read and trainers we had seen was going on was not entirely correct. She was right, I knew that as I could just sense that it was something going on a bit deeper than just “dog behaviour”.

Through one of my yoga students, a well-known medium in Haarlem, The Netherlands where we lived at the time called Nicole Olderen I was guided to connect with the renowned Animal Communicator Gerrie Huijts whom she knew.

Gerrie had an amazing, long and deep conversation with Akasha and came back with the most profound insights and advice which changed the course of our lives.

When Gerrie announced a few months later that her friend and world famed Animal Communicator Marta Williams was coming to The Netherlands in November of 2010 to teach Animal Communication for a full week ,I signed up that very second.

Part of studying with Marta was to work with at least 60 animals within a month if you wished to do this professionally, and then take the course “coaching animals and their people” to be able to step out and do this professionally.

Day 1, already in hour 1 of this course I was in my element, loving every minute of it, soaking up every word, every task. I truly felt like I had come home. That evening, on the train back home, I posted on Facebook asking if any of my friends had any animals I could practice with. Before I arrived home I had 89 replies. From all over the world.

After these 89 animals in one month´s time, I already had a running practice under the name AkashaTalking. These 89 people and families kept sharing my contact details with more people. Quite a few of them came back for more sessions. And so it rolled on. An on. And on.

I was asked to teach courses. Since I was never going to teach courses without accreditation, I went back to Marta and Gerrie, took an online private mentoring for teaching with Marta, did a full years internship alongside Gerrie before I started teaching internationally.

The Animals have been and still are, with every session or course I give, my biggest teachers. With every conversation, every connection I learn to listen in another way, to see the world in a different way, through the lenses of these beautiful beings. These beautiful beings who live so close to us, so much alongside of us and have so much to share.

I have been told and keep being told that my task in this is “to teach people how to understand animals, how to understand nature, to see their perspective, to “change eyes””. Why? Because it makes us better humans.

So, how does it work?

The less detailed description is that I connect with your animal/s on distance, with a photo or a description, a few details (name, age, sex, your name) and the questions we have. I spend about 1,5 hours talking to the animal and then the conversation with the human/you is about the same amount of time.
